Ram 1500 vs F150- video comparison

The F150 continues to be the best selling pickup on the market, but there is no denying that Ram has released a very strong competitor with the 2019 1500. This is a solid overview that compares the different features of each model and the folks over at Autoguide agree this is the best Ram to date.

A lot of people seem to be growing tired of Fords Ecoboost engines, and many would argue that the F150 is little more than a dressed up work truck. I think FCA has done a much better refresh/update for the new model year and I wouldn't be surprised if we see a lot of new owners coming from rival brands.

These trucks are catering to different audiences imo, as the Ram has become a lot more focused on luxury and comfort. And realistically you wont be getting anywhere near the 25mpg that Ford outlines in the F150, as that will heavily depend on your driving style.

I also think that the fit and finish and interior quality is far superior on that of the Ram. Ford has focused moreso on work truck features like payload, towing and trailering tech, and I think those looking for a proper workhorse will probably go that way.

I don't foresee many people crossing over between models, as they are far more likely to remain with the brand that they have owned in the past. Both Ford and Ram have strong contenders for 2019. Really depends on what you're buying the truck for.

its bad experiences that cause someone to shift brands, aside from that most pick up makers all offer the same thing, its just a matter of which badge you want

Ford hasn't remained the top seller for no reason, and their build quality has long been one of the best in the segment. FCA has made significant progress with their newer models, but just have a look at what's been happening with the JL.

I know brand image/perception is a big one with a lot of folks, when its all you seen being used beyond your means by law enforcement, construction companies and other commercial means, on top of being part of American culture, its hard not to give it a second look.

The issues with the new Wrangler have been blown way out of proportion, and FCA has already said the issues are only expected to affect around 2% of new models. Wrangler owners are just very vocal about issues, whether they are wide ranging or not.

Seems natural to be me to be expressing so much concern given how well the JL performed and the legacy all past Wrangler models left.
Most other brands that build legacy product suffer the same way, even those that aren't car makers. At some point customers start having high expectations.
